Gustav Gauntlett is an experienced youth mentor in several Hip Hop programs in New York City.Starting with Optimus in 2006, he brings the talent of a Hip Hop theater performer and mentors in innovative forms of song structure and performance. He is also a full time mentor with Urban Art Beat, another successful youth music program at South Bronx Preparatory High School. He wrote, directed and produced "Big Apple Turns to Cider," a Hip Hop musical written entirely in rhyme and has performed at many venues including the Nuyorican Poets Café, West Point Military Academy and Ars Nova. Gustav also re-wrote Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” as a Hip Hop musical and donated the script to the drama class at South Bronx Prep. to perform in its Spring show.
